Eyal Shifroni is a senior Iyengar Yoga teacher who has been practicing since 1978 and teaching Iyengar Yoga since 1985. He directs the Iyengar Yoga Center of Zichron-Ya’akov (Israel) and conducts Yoga workshops there and around the world. As one of the most senior teachers in Israel, Eyal is active at the IYAI (Iyengar Yoga Association of Israel) and mentors students towards their teaching assessment exams.
Eyal has written many articles about the practice and the philosophy of Yoga, and translated two of B.K.S. Iyengar’s books to Hebrew (The Tree of Yoga & Light on Pranayama). He is the author of the books A Chair for Yoga and three volumes of the series Props for Yoga, highlighting the creative use of props in Iyengar yoga for inspired access to the practice. A new book offering a unique approach – both theoretical and practical – to the mind–body problem is currently being published and was co-written with Ohad Nachtomy, head of the philosophy department at Bar Ilan University.
